The Film & Media Studies Program at George Mason looks at all kinds of moving images and critical approaches to them. We explore feature films and documentaries, new media, and the ever-changing forms of television, in order to understand film and media's many effects.
Better This World follows the dramatic journey of David McKay (22) and Bradley Crowder (23), of Midland Texas, George W. Bush’s hometown, as they are transformed from political neophytes to accused domestic terrorists, arrested at the 2008 Republican National Convention.
Three courses in Modern and Classical Languages this Spring will fulfill FAMS credits. The classes, International Mysteries, Japanese Cinema, and (Post)Soviet Film, are all taught in English.
Team taught by Professor Carla Marcantonio (Film & Media studies) and Sally Keith (English/Poetry), the course "Film and Poetry" will juxtapose contemporary projects in poetry and film, examining questions of form and content to enlarge our sense of a particular theme or narrative by considering it in a new context.
