The fight for equity and parity for all Women in the United States has been a long-standing struggle. At times the fight for Women’s Rights has been essentialist and exclusionary for Women from varying socio-economic statuses and racial and ethnic groups. This program will discuss different waves of Feminism and the Feminists who led those movements. It will compare and contrasts the feminisms of women like bell hooks, Cardi B, Gloria Steinem, Lena Dunham, Gloria Anzaldua, and Janet Mock. Who defines Feminism and polices those borders?
