Please join Alexander Fattal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication, UC San Diego, for a discussion of his book Guerrilla Marketing: Counterinsurgency and Capitalism in Columbia, his experimental documentary Limbo, and the relationship between scholarship and filmmaking.

Fattal’s scholarship and filmmaking focus on representations of the Colombian armed conflict and the efforts to build a lasting peace there.  He brings an interdisciplinary perspective to his work, combining socio-cultural anthropology, media studies, and documentary.
